Farewell to Jean Wigg
The parish joined together on Sunday 7th March to wish a fond farewell to Jean Wigg
After more than 25 years in Westfield parish, Jean is leaving us to move closer to her family.
Jean started in the parish as PCC Secretary and on retirement of the previous sacristan, Jean volunteered to take over the sacristan duties, which she has diligently carried out for many years along with a wide variety of other jobs that Jean has taken on or assited with.
Many friends within the parish joined together on Sunday 7th March for a pot-luck lunch in the Parish Hall, to wish Jean a fond farwell and to say a big thank you for all her hard work, support, and friendship over so many years.
Durinng the lunch Jean was presented with a number of momentos from the parish including a small wooden cross, hand crafted by Nik Wiggins from the top of a redundant church pew; and along with a basket of spring flowers there was also a book of photographs of parish life with hand written messages of support and good wishes from fellow parishoners.
We look foward to welcoming Jean back to the parish in future years whenever she returns to visit her many friends here.
